Youth Ministry

Ecclesiastes 12:1 says “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth.” And so, every Monday from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Gonsalo Garcia College, the Youth Ministry meets to remember their Creator while they are young.

The Youth Ministry is made up of the Core Team comprising of 13 members and about 50 youth. We gather together for a time of Praise and Worship and to listen to teachings from the Word of God. There are testimonies on Faithfulness, Commitment, Intercession and other topics as well as teachings on topics such as Evangelism, Personal Prayer, Bible reading etc.

Once a month we break up into separate groups of boys and girls so that they can benefit from talks specific to their respective lives and situations.

During the holidays, the Life in the Spirit Seminars (LSS) and other growth retreats are conducted for the youth as well as training programmes for the core team members. These help the youth in areas of career choices, and living a life pleasing to God.

There are also times of fellowship like picnics, games, bible quiz sessions as well as skit competitions based on Biblical themes. These help to create excitement, bonding and bring out the creative talents of the youth. Sometimes, there are separate fellowship gatherings of girls and boys to foster unity among the girls and among the boys.

Group discussions are a very important feature of the Youth meetings. They help youth to share their struggles and experiences in smaller groups and to receive counsel and prayers. These discussions also encourage youth to be open and honest with one and other.

Within the Youth ministry there are various ministries such as the Music ministry, the Service ministry, the Action song ministry and the Skit ministry. Each ministry meets occasionally to plan and practice.

All in all the Youth Ministry is flowering and working towards bearing Fruit for Jesus in the days of their youth.
